Privacy Policy — Tanveer-Ul-Quran
Last updated: 6 July 2026
Tanveer-Ul-Quran ("the app", "we") helps you read the Qurʼan and track your progress with groups. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address (and a password, stored only in hashed form, if you register with email). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google.
- Profile details (optional): profile picture, city, and avatar colour.
- Activity data: your reading progress (paras, ayahs, streaks), group memberships and assignments, dhikr contributions, and achievement badges.
- Messages: text messages you send to members of your groups.
- Notification token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token, so we can send you notifications.
How we use your information
- To provide the app's core features (reading tracking, streaks, groups, plans, dhikr, hadith, prayer times).
- To show your name/photo to other members of groups you join.
- To send you in-app and push notifications (streaks, group updates) — only if you allow it.
- To secure your account and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not show ads.
Service providers
We use trusted providers only to operate the app: Google (sign-in), Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), and a hosted database. They process data on our behalf.
Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored hashed.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below; we will delete it within a reasonable period.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
